SPRINGFIELD – Officials with the Illinois Department of Public Health reported the state’s lowest one-day total of new COVID-19 cases since October Monday with 2,944, including 49 additional deaths.
Southern Illinois health departments reported 210 new cases, including four deaths in Perry County.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 1,104,763 cases, including 18,798 deaths statewide.
Local case breakdown:
- Perry County: 43, four deaths (since 1/22)
- Jefferson County: 40 (since 1/23)
- White County: 17
- Williamson County: 16
- Johnson County: 15
- Union County: 14
- Jackson County: 12
- Massac County: 11
- Franklin County: 10
- Hamilton County: nine
- Saline County: eight
- Hardin County: four
- Gallatin, Pope and Pulaski counties: three each
- Alexander County: two
The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity from Jan. 18–24 is 5.8 percent.
A total of 1,112,725 doses of vaccine have been delivered to providers across the state, including Chicago. In addition, approximately 550,050 doses total have been allocated to the federal government’s Pharmacy Partnership Program for long-term care facilities, bringing the total Illinois doses to 1,662,775.
