Cave-in-Rock Ferry Operational After Sunday Closure

HARDIN COUNTY – The Cave-in-Rock Ferry is operating normally Monday following a temporary closure due to high winds in the area.

According to their Facebook page, the Ferry closed Sunday morning at 7:45 a.m. as winds along the Ohio River increased to about 21 mph, blowing upstream at the Ferry Crossing. The release said anytime the wind runs upstream, it can create hazardous river conditions and officials were seeing white caps on the crossing.

The Ferry was able to re-open Sunday night around 7 p.m.
