Five Deaths Due to COVID-19 Reported in Southern Illinois

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS – State health officials Wednesday reported 12,657 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, including 145 additional deaths. Five deaths were reported along with over 200 cases across southern Illinois.

Currently, a total of 523,840 cases, including 10,434 deaths, have been reported in Illinois since the pandemic started.

Local case breakdown:

  • Franklin County: 57,one death
  • Williamson County: 53, one death
  • Jackson County: 46, one death
  • Jefferson County: 41
  • Saline County: 12
  • White County: six, two deaths
  • Gallatin County: three

The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from Nov. 4–10 is 12.4 percent
