Two Men Connected to Fatal Carbondale Shooting Arrested in Florida

CARBONDALE – Two men were in Florida in connection to an August shooting in Carbondale.

According to a release from the Carbondale Police Department, officers began investigating a homicide in the 1000 block of North Robert A. Stalls August 17, following the fatal shooting of 44-year-old Jamonte Allison. During the investigation, officers determined that 23-year-old DeVale L. Johnson of Carbondale and 30-year-old Victor R. Purdiman of Paducah, KY were involved.

Carbondale Police detectives obtained arrest warrants for Johnson and Purdiman for First Degree Murder and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm. Tuesday, authorities located them in Orange County, FL and arrested them on the related warrants. Both are currently incarcerated.
