John A. Logan Cancels Annual Arts & Crafts Show Due to COVID-19

CARTERVILLE – Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, John A. Logan College officials made the decision Wednesday to cancel the 45th Annual Autumnfest Arts and Crafts show.

John A. Logan College President Dr. Ron House stated the decision was based on the Ccollege’s top priority of “providing a safe environment for all that visit the campus.”

“We have carefully followed the Illinois Community College Board’s Guidance for the Return to Campus for Illinois Community Colleges, the Governor’s Restore Illinois Plan, as well as guidance by the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control,” House said. “Unfortunately, as was the case with Hunting and Fishing Days, there are just too many concerns about having a large multi-day event on campus.”

The annual two-day event, originally scheduled November 14 and 15, usually features over 120 vendors with holiday-themed items and food with free parking and admission and has long been considered a kickoff to the holiday shopping season.

The 2021 event is tentatively scheduled for November 13 and 14.  For more information, Contact Adrienne Barkley Giffin, 985-2828, Ext. 8287.
