New COVID-19 Cases Reported in 14 Southern Illinois Counties

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Monday announced 1,373 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, including five additional confirmed deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 262,744 cases, including 8,314 deaths, in 102 counties in Illinois.

Local case breakdown:

  • Williamson Count: 24
  • Jefferson County: 12
  • Union County: nine
  • Franklin and Saline counties: seven each
  • Jackson and Johnson counties: six each
  • Massac County: five
  • Alexander County: four
  • Hamilton County: three
  • White, Pulaski and Hardin counties: two
  • Pope County: one
  • All cases are in isolation.

The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total tests from Sept. 7-13 is 3.6 percent.
