FRANKLIN CO. – A rear-end collision led to one person injured Thursday afternoon in Franklin County.
According to Illinois State Police, 54-year-old Tina Horner and 49-year-old Louis Skurat, both of Tamaroa, were driving their vehicles west around 2:50 p.m. on Illinois 154 where the road was reduced to one lane due to construction. Both drivers stated they had a green light and entered the construction zone.
According to the release, once in the one lane restriction, Skurat noticed an oncoming vehicle traveling east and slowed down to avoid a collision. Horner failed to reduce speed and drove into the rear of Skurat’s vehicle.
Horner was taken by ambulance to an area hospital with minor injuries. Skurat and his passenger, 40-year-old Laura Skurat of Tamaroa, were not hurt.
The road was closed for 30 minutes during the crash investigation, which is still in progress. No further information is available.
