IDPH: 601 New COVID-19 Cases in Illinois, 38 Deaths Tuesday

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Tuesday announced 601 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 38 additional confirmed deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 137,825 cases, including 6,707 deaths, in 101 counties in Illinois. Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 20,507 specimens for a total of 1,399,510. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from June 16-22 is two percent.

Locally, Alexander County reported one new case of COVID-19 Tuesday. That case is in isolation. Jackson County reported another death from COVID-19 and no new cases were reported there Tuesday.
