Cobden Man Receives Six Years in IDOC for Vehicle Theft

COBDEN – A Cobden man was sentenced in White County Court Monday to three years and six months in the Illinois Department of Corrections for possession of stolen vehicle.

In a release, White County State’s Attorney Denton Aud said 29-year-old Joshua Hornback will also serve two years of mandatory supervised released after his release from prison. Hornback was also ordered to pay $2,500 in restitution.

Aud said Hornback stole a vehicle from Wm. Nobbe & Co., Inc. in Norris City in October 2018. The vehicle was recovered by the Illinois State Police (ISP), who processed the scene. Ultimately, evidence recovered from the vehicle was submitted to the ISP Crime Lab who was able to confirm, through DNA testing, Hornback had been an individual that stole the vehicle.

Hornback’s case was investigated by the Norris City Police Department. Hornback was represented by Public Defender Brian Shinkle. Judge T. Scott Webb was the presiding judge.
