IDPH Reports 623 New Cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, 72 Deaths

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Tuesday announced 623 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 72 additional confirmed deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 133,639 cases and 6,398 deaths in 101 counties in Illinois. Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 18,729 specimens for a total of 1,228,341. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from June 9-15 is three percent.

Locally, Pulaski County reported one new positive case of COVID-19 Tuesday, with two new positive cases reported in Williamson County. Jackson County reported one new death from COVID-19 and one new positive case of the novel coronavirus. All current cases are in isolation.
