Local Health Department Warns Against Non-Traditional Cleaning

ULLIN – With cleaning habits now given more effort and time by Americans in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, one local health department is reminding residents to be smart about cleaning up.

Shawnna Rhine, Community Outreach Coordinator with the Southern Seven Health Department, said residents are using non-traditional ways to clean, which is doing more harm than good.

The Illinois Poison Control Center has reported exposures to cleaning products are up about 30 percent this year due to the pandemic.
