No Positive Cases of Coronavirus in Marion Reported, According to City

MARION – The City of Marion Thursday released a statement Thursday saying no positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Marion, and more frequent desanitizing is taking place at their facilities.

The city said changes are incoming, however, at the Marion Senior Center.

“At present, our City operations will continue as normal except for the Marion Senior Center. Starting Monday, March 16, all programming will be suspended until further notice,” the statement reads. “Meals will be provided in a ‘to-go’ capacity and patrons are still encouraged to call ahead for ordering and pick-up procedures.”

The city added they’ll continue to monitor the Coronavirus situation as it develops, and they’re taking “every precaution and consideration into account” as they work with the Illinois Department of Public Health and Bi-County Health Department.
