Williamson County Correctional Officers Charged for Sexual, Official Misconduct

MARION – Two Williamson County correctional officers have been placed on unpaid administrative leave after being charged with custodial sexual misconduct and official misconduct.

According to a release, Williamson County Sheriff Bennie Vick said Russel Herzog and Brandon Elam were placed on unpaid administrative leave as soon as the sheriff was made aware of the charges.

The investigation was conducted by the Illinois State Police, with charges filed by Special Prosecutor Daniel Klingemann from the Union County State’s Attorney’s office.
