West Frankfort City Council Likely to Approve Request for Oak St. No Parking Signs

WEST FRANKFORT – The West Frankfort City Council will likely discuss and possibly act on Police Chief John Prudent’s request to place no parking signs in the 1200, 1300 and 1400 blocks of E. Oak St. at Tuesday night’s meeting.

The council left the no parking issue on Oak St. to the police chief in December to do additional research and report back to the council at a future date.

In other business, the council is expected to approve an additional appropriations resolution regarding the Illinois 149/I-57 East to Douglas Street with the Multiuse Path Project, discuss with possible action purchasing a truck for the police department to replace a damaged vehicle, advertising for bids to demolish property for the codes department, and discuss with possible action a proposal to make repairs to the police department’s roof.

The meeting starts at 6 p.m. at City Hall. The public is invited.
