AFSCME and State Reach Agreement; Ending Near Four-Year Stalemate

IRN – There is a contract after years of stalemates between the state and AFSCME, the largest employee union in state government. The last contract expired nearly four years ago and now it looks like 40,000 employees have a new agreement to work under. For now the details are being kept under wraps until union members vote on it. But AFSCME and the state both say in statements that the contact works for both sides.
