Carbondale – A Carbondale man is pleading guilty to making false threats to blow up a military recruiting center in Carbondale. According to a release from the US Department of Justice, George Rita II of Carbondale pleaded guilty to one count of making a bomb threat in relation to an incident on June 28th of this year when Rita sent a message to an FBI tip-line in West Virginia stating that he was heading to a recruitment center to blow it up and that no one could stop him. The FBI was able to trace the message back to Rita’s computer. A sentencing date has been set for December 27th. Rita faces up to five-years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
