Cave-in-Rock Ferry Shutting Down Temporarily Due to Floodwaters

Cave-in-Rock – Cave-in-Rock Ferry is halting operations for at least the next twelve days. The ferry is out of service due to dangerous floodwaters brought on by recent heavy rains. A release from the Ferry states that it will likely be closed until February 24th, and possibly longer. The ferry hauls approximately 500 vehicles across the Ohio River between Illinois and Kentucky daily, saving drivers about 85 miles of extra driving.
